Finken Companies × Jive Media — Marketing Partnership Brief

Welcome, Sarah.
Your marketing engine is already running.

Two years ago Finken had a ten-page website and silent channels. Today: three brands, eight locations, eleven ad campaigns, a CRM that routes every lead by territory, and a dashboard that follows each dollar to the rep who closed it. This brief is your map to all of it — and the plan from here.

Spring

Partnership begins

A one-month deep audit of every channel, then the 12-Month Marketing Plan that set the build order for everything below.

2024

New finkens.com ships

The ten-page site becomes a modern, SEO-optimized, conversion-focused website — the old one preserved at legacy.finkens.com for the before-and-after.

2024

The measurement layer

Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and CallRail call tracking wired to every lead path. From this point forward, nothing happens unmeasured.

2024

Eight Google Business Profiles rebuilt

Optimized listings and citations for every location, plus a geo-routed review funnel that sends each customer to the right profile — and intercepts anything under four stars.

Mid 2024

The production library

Four brand commercials and three recruitment spots produced, plus full photo shoots — the asset base every campaign since has drawn on.

2024

Paid media, structured

Google Ads account and Meta Business Portfolio (pages, ad account, pixel) organized properly, with marketing automation stood up behind them.

2025

Apr–May

The Spring Campaign plan + EDDM flight

A $31.8K omni-channel plan under one creative system — EDDM, digital billboards, radio, OTT television, social, email. The ~37,000-piece EDDM flight across 1,055 hand-picked routes ran; the rest of the plan, creative and vendor quotes included, is on the shelf ready to activate.

2025

The always-on engine

Monthly editorial calendars, organic social, blog content, and a promo cadence that runs June water and AC offers through Black Friday and Cyber Week.

2025

Water chemistry as targeting

Precision EDDM flights built on water-quality data — nitrate messaging into Minneapolis markets, PFAS into Woodbury.

2025

Training platform and thought leadership

finkens.com/training launches, alongside bylined articles for Tom, Mike, and Chris on the site and LinkedIn.

Result

210% website traffic growth from the 2024 baseline

The foundation year paid for itself in visibility before paid spend ever ramped.

2026 Marketing Plan + 90-Day Lead Blitz

The annual plan and an aggressive lead-generation sprint to open the year, backed by a fresh full-funnel audit.

March

SEO/AEO overhaul across 250+ pages

Structured data tripled, 18 FAQ answers built for AI search engines, star ratings in Google results, and 60+ hyperlocal title fixes. Finken now surfaces when ChatGPT and Google AI answer service questions.

March

Google Ads rebuilt: 1 → 11 campaigns

Service campaigns across St. Cloud, North Metro, Willmar, and Hudson. The March result: 352 tracked inbound contacts against $429 in ad spend.

April

CRM migration to GoHighLevel

One platform replaces ActiveCampaign — contacts, three territory pipelines, automated follow-up, and email campaigns.

May–Jun

Funnel + dashboard built

contact.finkens.com captures and ZIP-routes every lead; app.finkens.com follows source → campaign → rep → revenue live. The Magnuson site build and the Aqua RO fair giveaway (with its drawing app) ship the same window.

July

The loop closes

GHL syncs every 15 minutes and closed-won deals feed back to Google Ads as offline conversions — the ads now optimize toward revenue, not clicks.

August

Dashboard v2 — and you arrive

Live pipeline value and per-rep scorecards ship, the new finkens.com nears launch, and this brief becomes your map to all of it.

September

The new finkens.com + lead capture system go live

The ground-up website rebuild and the contact.finkens.com capture system launch together — every lead ZIP-routed into GHL and tracked on the dashboard from day one.

03 What the program replaces

A six-person marketing department for less than one hire.

Standard guidance for home-services companies is to put 5–10% of revenue into marketing. Finken's entire program — the team, the production, and the platforms — runs at under 2%. Here is what it would take to build in-house.

04 How it all connects

Every lead takes the same instrumented path — no manual entry.

From first click to closed deal, one pipeline. And it learns: closed revenue flows back to Google as offline conversions, so the ads optimize toward customers, not clicks.

06 Proof, not promises

The Spring 2025 plan — omni-channel specced, EDDM executed

$31.8K planned across EDDM, digital billboards, radio, OTT TV, social, email, and retargeting under one creative system. The EDDM leg ran (~37,000 pieces, 1,055 routes); the remaining channels were fully specced and quoted — the working base for this fall’s media plan.

The seasonal promo engine

Jan–Feb humidifier and air-quality offers → spring event → June/July water and AC → Black Friday and Cyber Week → the fall furnace push, already designed for this season. Every promo runs across site, email, social, and boards.

Example

Live numbers as of August 22, 2026 — today's version is always on the dashboard: 6,005 site sessions in the last 30 days (+25%), 98.6K search impressions, $305.6K open pipeline across 842 opportunities.

07 The digital real estate

Nine properties, one brand system.

08 The production library

Broadcast-ready creative, on the shelf.

Seventeen productions by this team: brand spots and PSAs running on OTT, YouTube, and social; recruitment videos that hire; and a six-part technician training library. Everything plays right here.

Every working design file — flyers, billboards, mailers, social templates — lives in the shared Finken Canva. Ask Justin for access and it's yours to browse.

09 The in-house LMS

Safety training that tracks itself.

We built Finken its own training platform — finkens.com/training, home of the Safety First guides (arc welding safety, arc flash, workplace conduct, and more). The October build turns it into a true LMS: courses assigned per employee, completion recorded, and nothing living on a spreadsheet.

Finken Training course library

LMS · October
How it will work
  • Required courses — OSHA safety and beyond — assigned to every employee who needs them
  • Employees complete on any device; every completion is recorded per person
  • Past-due reminders send themselves — nobody chases paper
  • Leadership sees one screen: who is current, who is overdue

The training UI is built on the current site; carrying it into the new finkens.com ships with the October launch. It pairs with the six-part technician video series in the library above.

Weekly employee newsletter

Designed, built, and written — a Finken-branded template optimized for light and dark mode, with sections for new hires, anniversaries, birthdays, events, goals, promotions, and training. The draft September 1 issue is ready as your first send: the new sales system, the site launch, and the fall campaign.

Next: Open the September 1 issue — approve the look, and we load it into GHL with your send day and audience so every week after is fill-in-the-blanks.

HighLevel → Outlook

Root cause found: Finken runs on-premise Microsoft Exchange, and GHL’s calendar sync only connects to cloud Microsoft 365 / Outlook.com — on-prem servers are unsupported, full stop. This isn’t a settings fix; it needs a bridge.

Next: three workable paths, in order of preference: (1) move just the sales team’s mailboxes to Microsoft 365 — the clean, Microsoft-supported fix, everything syncs natively; (2) the mirror approach — a lightweight M365 calendar per rep, kept in sync with on-prem Exchange by a bridge tool (CodeTwo or CalendarBridge), with GHL connected to the mirror; (3) stopgap — each rep’s GHL calendar published as a subscribable feed inside on-prem Outlook (read-only, works today). We’ll walk your IT contact through the trade-offs and set it up.

Event schedule — 2026 & 2027

The 2026 calendar exists — it’s the seasonal promo engine in the campaigns section of this brief: spring event, summer water and AC promos, the fall furnace push, holiday and Cyber Week. The 2026–27 version is being built now.

Next: we need your event list and direction to finish it — send dates and priorities, and we build the full calendar across social, email, drawing follow-ups, and signage.

Campaign schedule — what’s running now

Live today: 13 Google Ads campaigns at about $104/day (≈$3.2K/mo) — service campaigns across St. Cloud, North Metro, Hudson, and Willmar covering HVAC, water treatment, and water heaters, plus competitor defense and Google Local Services. Angi captures marketplace leads alongside. Always-on SEO, organic social, and email run underneath. No paid Facebook at the moment — the Meta portfolio is built and ready when we choose to turn it on.

Next: we bridge your ideas into the Q4 calendar together — this brief plus the monthly update is your standing view.

Employee videos & trainings in HighLevel

This one is already half-built — see the Finken Training section above. The platform is live at finkens.com/training with the Safety First guides, and the six-part technician video series sits in the library on this page. October turns it into a real LMS: assign a course to every employee who needs it, record completion, remind automatically when past due, and give leadership one screen showing who’s current.

Next: October launch is on the roadmap. From you: the list of required trainings (OSHA and otherwise) and who must take what — we handle the rest, including the new-hire template so day-one employees get their courses automatically.

Quotes, invoices & payments (WT & PHC)

GHL handles estimates, invoices, and payment capture natively — payments run through a connected Stripe account, and invoices sync onward to QuickBooks.

Next: two things from Finken: the product and price list each division’s reps should build quotes from, and the go-ahead to stand up a Stripe account for payment capture (we’ll confirm whether your QuickBooks setup can take payments directly, but Stripe is GHL’s native path). Then we configure and pilot with one team.

Billboards, radio, commercials — September & Q4

The Spring 2025 plan priced and specced all three — digital billboards, radio, and OTT television — with creative built and vendor quotes in hand. In the end only the EDDM mail leg ran, which means the rest of that plan is sitting ready to be reworked, not rebuilt.

Next: Jive updates the Spring plan to current offers and Q4 timing — placements, schedule, pricing, projected ROI — packaged for you to present directly to Tom.

Sales tracking per rep

Live now at app.finkens.com — the site from our meeting, same login as this page: leads, pipeline value, and per-rep win rates in real time.

Next: we send the short GHL hygiene list (move opportunities through stages, log deal value, assign an owner) — that’s what keeps the numbers accurate and ongoing.

HighLevel + WaterTight + FieldEdge (+ Outlook, QuickBooks)

Explored before, and it’s honestly not a lock. WaterTight runs on-premise — its integration path very likely requires migrating to WaterTight’s cloud version first. FieldEdge’s API is private, so access happens through a vendor conversation, not a signup page.

Next: we set up calls with both vendors to map what’s actually possible — and what a WaterTight cloud migration would involve — then bring you findings and a recommendation before anyone commits to anything.

Sandwich boards & flag signage

Jive covers the creative — sandwich board and flag designs sized per format, matched to the current campaign, for all eight locations.

Next: we deliver the design kit with print-ready files and recommended specs; printing, ordering, and placement stay with Finken’s local teams.

Magnuson — scope conversation

On deck — we’ll walk through what’s running for Magnuson today and where to take it (Teams/Zoom, you + Jive).

Next: Sarah coordinates with Cathy and Tom at Magnuson to set the date; Justin sends a short agenda ahead of the call.
